Section 1-Rationale
On my course I have enjoyed many things but the main skill I have enjoyed was graphics design work. In my first year on this course I planned and Produced a poster for a movie that we came up with the concept and idea. Another project I found interesting was the title sequence project. What I liked most about this project was the learning of different effects.
I started the course with not having any experience with Adobe however I have developed these skills and now I have used them throughout the course I have a good understanding on how they work and use them effectively. The software I have found most enjoyable is premiere pro and photoshop. Out of all the adobe programs I have used photoshop the most since starting on the course I have spent a lot of free time working on using the adobe programs and photoshop is very easy to practice because I can get photos of the internet and follow tutorials. I have also used premiere pro a lot the reason I practice more with photoshop is that to edit in premiere you need footage which can be hard to get whilst at home. The reason I have chosen to create a collection of posters over a form of video is because I have more experience creating in photoshop therefore I think my work will be better quality I also think I can make a higher quality set o posters then a video is because shooting a video in lockdown could be very hard if we can't go outside and we aren't back at college I would find it hard to get the footage I would have needed. The way I decided to do my idea was weighing out the pros and cons the pros for my idea is that doing a collection of posters during lockdown will be more achievable in the lockdown restrictions this will therefore mean I can focus on the quality of my posters. Another pro of my idea is that I enjoy photoshop I think this will motivate me to spend more time on the final posters. A con for my idea is that depending on lockdown restrictions my final ideas for each poster might change at the final minute. My other initial ideas included filming the reason I chose against this was if we went into another lockdown filming would be very difficult without proper equipment and actors therefore my ideas would have to change dramatically if we went into lockdown.
Section 2-Project concept
My concept for this project is to create a set of 5 posters around the theme of lockdown. I want to have a different visual effect for each poster. Some of the areas I want to research in this project would be different graphic designers, colour theory and different effects. Whilst doing research on the effects and colour theory I would like to practice them as part of my research the way I would do this would be to choose a certain effect and colour theory and combine them into a photoshopped image. Some ideas that will support my idea is Jonathan Barnbrooks work this work is very meaningful I want to incorporate this emotion into some of my posters this will be developing my idea i will be using the research on different graphic designers to include some of their styles into my posters. The type of resources I am going to be using is the internet for researching into each of my topics I will also be using a camera and a tripod to take the photos for the posters my plan for production if we are in lockdown when producing these posters will be to use my phone camera and a tripod I have at home. I will be doing many types of research one type of research I will do is to create mock up posters and showing them to my target audience and getting feedback this would help think of new ideas or improve the existing one whilst doing this I will also ask questions about what they would like to see in a poster about lockdown. Another form of research I will be using is theoretical context this form of research I will be using when watching videos and looking at different effects, I will be evaluating each one with what I think will be best for my posters. From my research on Jonathan Barnbrooks I was inspired by his work whilst doing the personal research project. I found the way Jonathan Barnbrooks work very audience engaging this is a aspect of his work I want to incorporate into my designs.
Section 3-Evaluation
To evaluate my work throughout this project I will be creating a plan for the next lesson at the end of each lesson therefore I will always know exactly what I need to achieve that lesson. This will focus my work giving me more motivation to finish it to a high standard and on schedule. I will be writing a plan for each lesson on the wix website to show my plans for the lesson. After each lesson I will evaluate the work I have completed. I will start doing these things when I start my research.
Section 4-Strategies
I have found it hard to work in lockdown in some circumstances but in other I have found it easier. Whilst researching I have found this easier because i have all my resources at home so i can access them whenever therefore I can get work done more efficiently. However taking photos and videos are harder while during lockdown to solve this I will be using my phone to take photos with my tripod therefore I will get good shots to use for my posters. One skill I will need to improve on is having proof of all my work the way I will make sure I improve this will be by making sure i take screenshots of each of the changes I make in my final design this will show the progress a lot better.

I have changed my idea many times throughout this project and from feedback and research I think I have chosen the best theme for me. I have also thought about the strengths and weaknesses from each idea I've decided that this idea will have the best outcome. The reason I have decided to choose a poster for this project is because in the future I want to be able have experience in illustrator and photoshop for when I go to university and get a job.

Section 2-Project concept

My concept for this project is to create a set of 4 posters around the theme of Mental health. My ideas have come from doing a lot of research into different graphic designers and posters they have created. This research gave me the experience and the inspiration to think of 4 separate poster ideas that will have a purpose to my target audience. I thought of my final ideas whilst I was creating my first draft this halted my production because I needed to do research on these type of poster this furthered my interest into this idea. I decided to change my idea because I felt that after talking and getting feedback that these ideas would be much more motivating for me to work towards completing and for my target audience to engage with. During production of this idea I have not needed to have a film or photo shoot the reason for this is because I decided to make my posters on illustrator and photoshop. I was inspired whilst doing research on mental health issues and the posters that have been created towards this widespread issue. My main inspiration was the mind charity posters theme posters made me think about how important mental health is to everyone even if you aren't suffering from it yourself. The purpose of my posters is to engage with the target audience and have an impact on there mind to go and get help and talk to someone if they have mental health issues and to talk to friends and family to educate each other on mental health. I have also taken a lot of inspiration from my original research on graphic designers the graphic designer that I like most Johnathan Barn brook is a designer who uses text and images to talk about political subjects trying to make change these posters have a strong and clear purpose this is something I have tried to do with these poster ideas. I decided to change my idea through feedback and evaluation, Whilst creating my draft designs I got feedback then evaluated the work I had done.
Section 3-Evaluation

Throughout this project I have been making lesson and week plans these plans have made sure that I stay on track to finish before the deadline. I have been behind my plans a few times throughout this project but after catching up with some work and changing my plans I believe that I will be able to finish this project to the standard I am hoping for. I have recorded all my plans and evaluations in my Fmp journal and my planning page. As well as my daily evaluation and plan for the final few weeks of the project I will be doing a Gibbs reflective cycle and a weekly plan for the start of every week. At the end of post production I will be doing a final reflection and evaluation this will give me the chance to look back at this whole project and see the work I have completed.

Section 4-Strategies
​
To achieve the grade I need in this course I will need to be working as hard as possible in each lesson and also will need to work at home at times. Working in lockdown was easy in my circumstances because I had the resources to work from home however at times I was more distracted. The main positive for working from home was that all my files and resources were on one computer whereas now it is spread across two this is sometimes bad if I forget to send myself work between the computers. A strategy I have developed to to achieve my goals has been working on feedback. Throughout this course I have used got a lot of feedback this was vital for me to make this project a success.

My action plan for the rest of this project is to spend next week finishing my post production and send Monday of the week starting 10/05/21 checking all the work from each page on my wix site after this I will be doing my final reflection and evaluation. If I fall behind on my poster post production I will spend the time at home working on my reflections and evaluations and spend all my college time working on these posters.

These 4 posters from Barnbrook are just a few that I think stand out. The first poster is about the Volkswagen scandal which was about a massive company lying to there customers. Barnbrook has used this poster as a protest to the company has made this poster by using a model of a real Volkswagen poster and editing the original to Speak out against them. I really like the way Johnathan
Barnbrook has used a simple design and Focused on the purpose this poster has.

The second poster from Johnathan Barnbrook is about the Spending on Arms in the UK. This poster has a Text portrait effect with 2 powerful looking people. This posters purpose is to make citivans aware of the money the government has spent on arms. I really like how Barnbrook has used a visual effect without overpowering the message he's trying to convey.

The third poster is about war and other major issues. Something I really like about this poster is that it has many key issues that Barnbrook has focused on. In this poster there isn't any images he has created a full text poster this is something that is very hard to create and for it to look good.

2.The reason I want to create posters around the theme of mental health at this moment in time is because there is a global pandemic which has seen a rise in mental health issues. I'm hoping that my posters would help people that have mental health issues talk to people which would help improve there mental health.
I have looked at a lot of mental health articles and videos. This research has helped me understand how serious mental health is and the wide range of people it effects I have also researched into mental health posters from looking and thinking about mental health posters I think I have a good understanding of what a mental health poster should look like and what it should say. I will make this relevant to todays audience by using bright colours when suitable and also using images more then text the reason I think that this would be better is because the aesthetic of the poster is what the audience will first look at.

I have 2 main target audiences these are people suffering from mental health issues and anybody that wants to learn and help others with mental health. The reason I have decided to target these people are that I would like to help people that have mental health issues and try to improve there happiness. I would also like to improve peoples knowledge of mental health. I will do this by creating posters that show some causes of mental health and others that improve.

4.For my posters I would like my audience to look at these posters and think about mental health whilst also taking action to improve the worlds mental health. This will be Active audience theory. I think that this theory is perfect for my posters because to make my posters successful I need them to make people act on mental health. I would like my audience to act unconsciously towards my posters. From the perspective of my audience they will be looking a notice board for a village or walking in a city and see my poster. I want them to take action by going to a website and researching into mental health the way I will do this is by adding links and phone numbers to my posters trying to help the viewer learn about mental health. Another way I want my target audience to view my poster is by looking taking in the information and doing research at home this will also help mental health as a problem.
